Trafic de drogue : le dealer et la grosse commande des policiers
SS Sylla, a well-known figure in the Santa Yalla neighborhood of Thiaroye, is to be brought before the prosecutor on Monday for possession and trafficking of psychotropic drugs and counterfeit currency. Officers from the Thiaroye police station, who apprehended him, launched the fatal raid after learning he had received a shipment of Alparaz, Temesta, and other anxiolytic tablets.
Last Saturday evening, they went to this part of the suburbs, contacted the suspect by phone, and ordered the product for 240,000 CFA francs. The prospect of closing a good deal "turned the counterfeiter's head," notes L'Observateur, which broke the story.
The newspaper continues: SS Sylla "accepts without hesitation. A meeting is arranged for the delivery. When he arrives at the meeting point, his merchandise carefully packaged, he is still unaware that he is dealing with police officers."
Sylla will be arrested. Eighteen packets of Alpraz and 21 Temesta tablets, found on him, are seized.
During the search of his room, police made a discovery that complicated matters for the suspected drug dealer. "Police seized 23 additional packets of Alpraz tablets as well as three counterfeit 10,000 CFA franc notes. This haul confirms the scale of his trafficking and reveals that he was also involved in counterfeiting," concludes L'Observateur.
