Traitements inhumains à Malika : Traitée de « pute », une fillette enchaînée et enfermée dans une salle de bains. Son père arrêté
The Keur Massar Criminal Investigation Brigade (BR) freed a 15-year-old girl who had been abused by her biological father. S. Diallo, a 40-year-old shopkeeper, had chained his daughter's feet before locking her in the bathroom of their home. This was his way of punishing her for her friends.
Alerted to the events in Malika, plainclothes gendarmes in a vehicle arrested the suspect at his home on October 4. Following the investigation, the father was brought before Prosecutor Saliou Dicko, head of the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office, on Wednesday on charges of kidnapping, intentional violence, and inhuman and degrading treatment of a minor under 15, according to Seneweb sources.
Two years of violence in the family home
According to the investigation, 15-year-old AD Diallo had been living in a climate of fear and distress for approximately two years. Every time she went out with her friends, her father would insult her, calling her a "whore," before hitting her.
On several occasions, he tied her hands and feet with a rope, then locked her in the bathroom for several days. The minor managed to escape several times to take refuge with acquaintances. And each time, her father brought her back home and continued the abuse.
To escape this violence, she eventually fled to Bène Barack, where she spent several days on the streets. After further searching, her father found her. Once home, he chained her foot with three padlocks before locking her in the bathroom again.
The escape and arrival at the police station
Taking advantage of a momentary absence of her father, the minor managed to free herself and flee to a lady's house whom she begged to accompany her to the police station, because she feared that her father would find her and subject her to further violence.
Upon her arrival at the Keur Massar police station, her emotional state was worrying: she was in tears, her gaze was averted, and she had difficulty speaking. The officers noted that she was still wearing the chain with its three padlocks on her right ankle. Marks and traces consistent with wearing this chain were visible on her right arm. Several scars and old injuries were also present on different parts of her body, including a head wound.
The victim's statements
When questioned about the events, AD Diallo stated that she had been subjected to repeated violence by her father for approximately two years, including beatings, insults, and threats. She claimed that he regularly tied her hands and feet before locking her in the bathroom for days at a time.
She stated that she had repeatedly tried to flee the home, but her father always found her and forcibly brought her back. During her last escape attempt, he struck her on the head and face as she tried to climb out of a window. She added that her mother sometimes tried to intervene, but that she herself was insulted and threatened by her husband, without being able to stop the violence.
The investigators then sent a request to the chief medical officer of the Keur Massar health district for an examination of the victim. Following this examination, a medical certificate was issued indicating a seven-day period of temporary incapacity for work.
The police then informed the director of the Open Environment Educational Action (AEMO) service in Keur Massar, so that the protection measures within her jurisdiction could be taken for the minor.
The father's arrest and partial confession
In the aftermath, at 7 p.m., the gendarmes went to S. Diallo's home to arrest him and take him to the brigade for the purposes of the investigation.
When questioned about the incident, the father admitted to chaining his daughter, AD Diallo, himself to prevent her from running away. He justified his actions by citing the teenager's repeated escapes and her association with people he considered harmful. He admitted to hitting her once when she tried to escape through her bedroom window. According to him, it was the first time he had chained her with a chain and padlocks he had purchased specifically for that purpose.
At the end of the investigation, S. Diallo was brought before Prosecutor Saliou Dicko, head of the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office, on Wednesday.
