A two-wheeler theft ring dismantled by the Jaxaay police

The elements of the Research Brigade of the Jaxaay district police station put an end to the activities of a group of young people suspected of being involved in the theft and handling of stolen motorcycles.

The case began during the night of Monday, October 5th to Tuesday, October 6th, 2026, when IS's two motorcycles were stolen. To recover his property, the owner immediately reviewed the recordings from his security camera system. After carefully examining the footage, he identified one of the perpetrators with the help of friends from the neighborhood.

Following this identification, IS immediately went to the Jaxaay district police station to file a complaint against X and report the suspect's presence to law enforcement.

The police immediately arrested the suspect, identified as MD Thioub, a 19-year-old tailor who lives in the Jaxaay U17 district.

Following MD Thioub's arrest, investigators from the Research Brigade were tasked with locating and arresting his accomplices. Their field operation proved successful, as officers brought two more individuals to the station. The first is D. Gomis, a 17-year-old painter residing in Jaxaay U16, while the second is O. Gueye, a 20-year-old scrap metal dealer also living in Jaxaay.

During their respective interrogations, MD Thioub and D. Gomis admitted their involvement in the nighttime robbery. They explained to the police that after committing the crime, they sold the two motorcycles belonging to IS to a man named O. Gueye. When they arrested Gueye, law enforcement discovered a Liberty 150 motorcycle in his possession, which was immediately impounded at the police station for the purposes of the investigation.

Following these steps, D. Gomis was taken into custody for conspiracy and robbery committed at night, while O. Gueye is being prosecuted for receiving stolen goods.
