Coffee vendor killed by his brother in Guinaw Rails: What the autopsy reveals

A coffee vendor was found dead on October 23, 2026, in Guinaw-Rails South. According to initial findings, he was stabbed by his older brother, with whom he lived.

On October 24, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., the Guinaw-Rails police station received the conclusions established following requisition no. 549/CAGR of October 23, 2026. They are signed by Professor CMM Dial, former intern of the hospitals of Dakar, and Dr. MA Diallo, pathologist.

The two doctors attest that BA Ndiaye's death was due to "hemorrhagic shock secondary to an anterior penetrating thoracic wound by a sharp, pointed, stabbing weapon, following a slightly oblique path from left to right and from bottom to top, with perforation of the upper lobe of the left lung, the pericardium and the ascending aorta."

In short, the victim succumbed to massive bleeding caused by a stab wound to the front of the chest. The blade pierced the upper part of the left lung, the pericardium (the sac surrounding the heart), and the main artery leading from the heart (the ascending aorta). The Guinaw Rails district police station was informed of the discovery of the lifeless body of BA Ndiaye, aged 49, on October 23, 2026, at around 9:30 p.m. A coffee vendor by profession, he resided in Guinaw-Rails Sud, in the Mbaye Diaw neighborhood.

Detectives from the local criminal investigation department arrived at the scene and found the victim lying in front of the toilet, a towel wrapped around his body. An examination of the body revealed a gaping wound near his heart. Firefighters were called to the scene to take charge of the body, and a request was sent to the hospital to determine the cause of death.

According to information gathered at the scene, the alleged perpetrator is the victim's older brother. The two men lived in the same family home. BA Ndiaye reportedly opened the bathroom door unintentionally while his brother was inside. The brother apparently misinterpreted this action and the two men began fighting. A few minutes later, he returned to the same spot to find BA Ndiaye and stabbed him.

The suspect, Mr. Ndiaye, 55, is a security guard. The murder knife was recovered and seized for the purposes of the ongoing investigation. Following the advice of Prosecutor Saliou Dicko, Mr. Ndiaye was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
