Vidéo virale sur une prétendue demande de 200.000 FCFA par une policière : un créateur de contenu et un mareyeur déférés
The Parcelles Assainies district police station has opened an investigation following a video widely shared on social media. In the video, two men arrogantly claim that after filing a police report for a stolen motorcycle, a female officer handling the case demanded 200,000 FCFA from them. They assert that they paid this sum, but received nothing. To clarify the matter, investigators have summoned the two men appearing in the video, according to Seneweb sources.
These are Mr. Ly, aged 33, who says he is a trader and resides in Grand Mbao, and C. Tall, aged 31, a fishmonger, residing in unit 06 of Parcelles Assainies.
The hearings of the two men
Mr. Ly was questioned first. He admitted to creating and managing the TikTok accounts "Défense moto Sénégal" and "Xkara," and to being the author of the incriminating video as well as the malicious comments targeting the National Police. He explained that he filmed C. Tall, who allegedly recounted the circumstances of his motorcycle theft and the steps he had taken with a policewoman, Ms. S. Dramé. She reportedly asked him for 200,000 FCFA in exchange for his help in recovering the vehicle. Mr. Ly admitted to not conducting any verification before posting the video. He maintains, however, that he acted in good faith, simply relaying the statements of C. Tall, a client to whom he was supposed to sell a GPS.
C. Tall confirmed that his motorcycle had been stolen in Unit 1, in the Golf district, where he said he filed a police report. According to him, it was his colleague from the fish market, K. Diagne, who put him in contact with Ms. S. Dramé by giving her her phone number. Ms. Dramé allegedly presented herself as working for the National Police and demanded 200,000 FCFA to help her recover her motorcycle. He provided a screenshot of a Wave transfer of 131,300 FCFA. He also identified Mr. Ly as the sole author of the derogatory comments in the video and apologized to the National Police and the Justice system.
The testimonies gathered
During the investigation, L. Ndoye went to the police station on behalf of her mother, K. Diagne, who was bedridden. She stated that her mother, the president of the Gendarmerie's widows' association, was also C. Tall's employer and mother-in-law. She explained that her mother had enlisted the help of her secretary, R. Diouf, to put her son-in-law in contact with Ms. S. Dramé. She clarified that Ms. Dramé was not presented to her as a police officer, but rather as a representative of the departments responsible for issuing driver's licenses, passports, and national identity cards.
R. Diouf, a retired woman residing in Bargny, was then questioned. She stated that she had given K. Diagne Ms. S. Dramé's phone number. She clarified that she had never met her in person and did not know her exact place of work. She also asserted that she had never said she was a police officer, but only a liaison with the courts and the DAF (Directorate of Administrative and Financial Affairs).
Reached by phone, Ms. S. Dramé, also bedridden for months, said she was a facilitator who had helped many people obtain administrative documents. Confirming the statements of R. Diouf and K. Diagne, she declared that she had never presented herself as a police officer. When questioned about a screenshot of a Wave transfer of 130,000 FCFA, she maintained that the transaction dated back more than a year. She no longer remembered its purpose, having carried out numerous procedures for C. Tall's mother-in-law and for her colleagues, during which several transfers allegedly took place. According to her, the two young men are trying to cover up their mistake by accusing her of impersonating a police officer.
The confrontation
Faced with contradictions in these statements, investigators organized a confrontation. Mr. Ly and C. Tall maintained their previous statements. C. Tall reaffirmed that the comments targeting the National Police were exclusively Mr. Ly's. He added that Mr. Ly was known for this behavior: several videos circulating on TikTok, in which he allegedly made disparaging remarks about the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) without evidence, were circulating.
At the end of their custody, Mr. Ly and C. Tall were brought before the Dakar prosecutor's office on Tuesday.
