Vol d'un iPhone 16 Pro Max et d'un 15 Pro à Jaxaay : Comment les deux auteurs ont été trahis par la géolocalisation
The events unfolded at night. AT made a bitter discovery when he woke up around 6 a.m. In his bedroom, he found that his two cell phones—an iPhone 16 Pro Max and an iPhone 15 Pro—were missing. After a brief inspection of the premises, he quickly understood the perpetrators' modus operandi. They had taken advantage of the nighttime calm to enter the house through the balcony and commit their crime.
Not content to let the matter rest, AT used his laptop to activate the geolocation system on his devices in order to track down the thieves. This allowed him to pinpoint the location of the two smartphones in a house in Jaxaay's Unit 14. Using this valuable information, he immediately went to the Jaxaay District Police Station to request police assistance.
The police station's research brigade team mobilized and, accompanied by the complainant, went to the address indicated by the geolocation. Upon arrival, the officers came face to face with the suspects, who were positioned in front of the door of the house targeted by the geolocation.
The two suspects were then taken to the police station where they were identified as MS , aged 20, residing in Jaxaay Unit 4; and MGS (aged 18, unemployed, residing in Jaxaay Unit 16).
The two cell phones were confiscated at the police station for the purposes of the investigation. As for the suspects, they were brought before the prosecutor last Monday on charges of conspiracy and aggravated robbery committed at night with breaking and entering.
