Wakhinane-Nimzatt : une grossesse, une plainte et une affaire d’avortement présumé
A disturbing case involving intimate relationships and an alleged attempted abortion is shaking the Harlem neighborhood of Wakhinane-Nimzatt in Guédiawaye. According to L'Observateur, it all began after a sexual encounter between Mr. Thiombane, 49, a cart driver, and his roommate A. Niang, a bus conductor, while the man's wife was away.
The case took a different turn when, a week later, the woman announced she was pregnant by Thiombane and filed a complaint against him, accusing him of refusing to acknowledge paternity. The cart driver, quoted by the same source, disputes this version of events and claims the pregnancy predates their only sexual encounter. The newspaper reports that a gynecological examination conducted at Baudouin Hospital in Guédiawaye confirmed the young woman was four months pregnant.
The investigation also uncovered a connection to an alleged attempted illegal abortion. The newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias (GFM) adds that the complainant reportedly sent 40,000 FCFA to a woman she contacted on TikTok to obtain abortifacients, before the woman became unreachable. Investigators also located a nurse who claims to have been approached but denies performing any abortion. She maintains that she only administered a painkiller to the young woman.
The woman claims that the cart driver advised her to terminate the pregnancy, which he categorically denies. Following the hearings, the Gfm news report concludes, both individuals were taken into custody and then brought before the prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye court on charges of attempted abortion and complicity.
