Yeumbeul: Fugitive recaptured nearly a year after an assault followed by gang rape

Nearly ten months after the events, the research brigade of the Yeumbeul Comico district police station apprehended an individual presented as the alleged co-perpetrator of an assault followed by a gang rape committed on the night of November 29-30, 2025.

The accused was brought to the prosecutor's office on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, for alleged acts of criminal association, robbery in a group with violence and use of a bladed weapon committed at night, as well as for gang rape.

According to the investigation, the case stemmed from a complaint filed by a woman who was assaulted on her way to work.

According to her statements, on November 29, 2025, around 5 a.m., she was intercepted by two individuals near the transmission camp. Threatening her with a knife and a breathalyzer, the two men allegedly robbed her of her iPhone 14. The assailants then allegedly forced her into a building under construction, where she was raped.

The investigations conducted following the complaint allowed investigators to identify and arrest one of the suspects. The second alleged perpetrator, however, managed to escape and had remained at large since the incident.

Continuing their investigations, the BR team finally managed to locate and arrest the fugitive on September 1, 2026. During questioning, he reportedly admitted to the charges against him, according to information provided by investigators.

Placed in police custody for conspiracy, robbery in a group with violence and use of a bladed weapon committed at night and gang rape, he was brought before the prosecutor's office this Tuesday.
