Ziguinchor : Le corps démembré d'un nouveau-né découvert au quartier Kobitène
A tragedy of unbearable horror shook the town of Ziguinchor on Monday, July 27, 2026. At around 6:45 p.m., the lifeless body of a newborn was discovered a short distance from the bridge located behind the Silence Hospital, on the road to Oussouye.
According to initial reports, the body was in a very advanced state of decomposition, exacerbated by recent bad weather. The partially dismembered body was lying face down amidst the vegetation.
The gruesome discovery was made by a passerby returning home from work. Alerted by a suspicious shape in the grass, he approached and realized with horror that it was the body of an abandoned infant. He immediately raised the alarm.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found officers from the Ziguinchor central police station already conducting the standard investigation. The body was then removed and transported by emergency services.
An investigation was immediately opened by the police to clarify the exact circumstances of this tragedy and to find the perpetrators of this extremely cruel act.
