Basket : Cierra Dillard vers un grand retour avec les Lionnes ?
Having been away from the national team for over ten months, Cierra Dillard could soon return to the Lionesses of Senegal jersey. The point guard, absent since the end of the 2025 Women's AfroBasket, is expected to join the squad that will compete in the pre-qualifying tournament for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
This competition will take place from August 17 to 23, 2026 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and represents an important step in the quest for Olympic qualification for Senegal.
An experienced player and key figure in the Senegalese system during her previous appearances, Cierra Dillard (30 years old) would be a valuable addition to a team now managed by Cheikh Sarr. Her leadership, playmaking ability, and capacity to turn games around would be major assets for the Lionesses against stiff competition.
If her presence is confirmed, this return would be excellent news for the Senegalese team, which hopes to approach this event with all of its best players in order to maximize its chances of continuing the journey towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
