Basket : Makhtar Ndiaye nommé manager général des Lions, Malèye Ndoye hérite d’un nouveau poste
The Senegalese Basketball Federation (FSBB) is restructuring the technical and administrative staff of its national teams. Makhtar Ndiaye is taking over as general manager of the Lions, while El Hadji Malèye Ndoye has been reassigned to the position of technical assistant.
Former Senegalese international and 1997 African champion, Makhtar Ndiaye, is now the new general manager of the men's national team. An advisor to the president of the Senegalese Basketball Federation (FSBB) since 2022, he succeeds El Hadji Malèye Ndoye, who has been appointed to a new position.
He has been appointed technical assistant to the Lions. A choice that the federation justifies by his experience as a former international and captain of the national team, but also by his background as head coach of BBC Nyon.
The reorganization also affects the youth categories. Xane Christian Dalmeida, also a former Senegalese international, has been appointed general manager of the U18 and U19 men's national teams. He will notably be responsible for supporting the U19 team, which has qualified for the 2027 World Cup scheduled to be held in the Czech Republic.
Through these appointments, the FSBB is counting on the experience of former internationals to strengthen the coaching staff of its various national teams.
In its statement, the Federation extends its best wishes for success to the three officials in carrying out their new duties.
