Bayern Munich: chute, convulsions... on en sait plus sur l'état de santé de Kompany après son hospitalisation
After collapsing on Friday at Bayern Munich's training ground, Vincent Kompany reportedly suffered convulsions. He underwent several tests at the hospital.
His absence is expected to last several weeks. Having suffered a health scare last Friday, Vincent Kompany (40 years old) will need a long rest before returning to the Bayern Munich bench. It was after leading the first team's training session and assisting with the reserve team's session that the former Belgian defender suddenly collapsed and was then rushed to a Munich clinic.
According to the Bild newspaper, he suffered convulsions before a club doctor, a rescue helicopter, and an emergency physician quickly arrived at the scene. Recent tests have ruled out a stroke or heart attack. A cerebral cause is suspected. "However, the incident does not appear to have been life-threatening," the newspaper reports, adding that Kompany was able to watch his team's 3-1 Bundesliga victory against Freiburg on Sunday.
The Bavarian club's management also visited him in the hospital in recent days: president Herbert Hainer, honorary president Uli Hoeness, and sporting director Max Eberl. During Kompany 's convalescence, one of his assistants, Aaron Danks, is taking charge of the first team, with their next match this Wednesday in the German Cup against Magdeburg (8:45 pm).
