Bignona-Finale régionale de l’ORGAM : Les acteurs plaident pour des infrastructures sportives de qualité
The 10th edition of the ORGAM regional phases concluded in Bignona yesterday, Sunday, at the René Coly school grounds, amidst an atmosphere of sporting and civic fervor. Filled with emotion, expressions of gratitude, and impassioned pleas, the participants transformed this final into a powerful call to equip the youth of Casamance with sports infrastructure worthy of their potential.

For thirteen days, twenty-four teams brought the Navétane movement to life under the auspices of ORGAM. Madihou Sané, president of the organization, expressed his gratitude and emotion: "The emotion is very, very strong, because it wasn't easy to organize an activity like this." He praised the support of the Minister of the Armed Forces, Yankhoba Diémé, which made it possible to save the movement and support the young people. But beyond the thanks, the president of ORGAM made a solemn appeal: to complete the Bignona stadium so that "this land of football" can finally offer dignified conditions to its young athletes.

The final, played between ASC Kassoumaye of Ziguinchor and ASC Renaissance of Bignona, ended in a penalty shootout, with Kassoumaye emerging victorious. Both teams were congratulated for their sportsmanship and commitment. But the event extended beyond football: a hike, a blood donation campaign that collected nearly 90 units, and school clean-up operations were just some of the civic initiatives integrated into the regional phases. "Our slogan is to guide, support, and help these young people become better," reminded Madihou Sané, president of ORGAM.

El Hadji Faty, technical advisor to the Minister of the Armed Forces, also expressed his satisfaction. He emphasized the role of sport as a vehicle for cohesion and talent identification, while stressing the need for suitable infrastructure. The Minister, although not involved in the sports sector, pledged to advocate for this with the relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Sports and Youth. "A minister must go further; he must support his youth wherever they are needed," Faty reminded everyone, citing the example of the rescue of the Navétane movement.

The rain that fell at the end of the match was interpreted as a blessing, sealing a final marked by peace and unity. The 10th edition of the ORGAM regional phases in Bignona will thus be remembered as a demonstration of sportsmanship and civic responsibility, but also as a powerful plea to provide Casamance's youth with sports infrastructure that matches their potential.
