Bundesliga : le Bayern et Dortmund se quittent dos à dos, soirée frustrante pour le ballon d'or Harry Kane
The highly anticipated clash between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund lived up to expectations, though it ended without a winner. The two German giants played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday in the 8th round of Bundesliga matches.
In the absence of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye and their coach Vincent Kompany, still recovering from meningitis, Bayern Munich were the first to find the net. Konrad Laimer opened the scoring in the 38th minute, giving Bayern the lead at halftime.
But after the break, Serhou Guirassy leveled the score (60th minute). Six minutes later, Dayot Upamecano put Bayern Munich back in front, before Fabio Silva silenced the Allianz Arena by equalizing in the 89th minute.
This match was also marked by Harry Kane's frustrating evening. Presented to the crowd with his Ballon d'Or before kickoff, the English striker provided the assist for Upamecano's goal but missed a penalty and hit the woodwork twice. Olise and Karl also struck the bar or post.
Bayern Munich also paid a heavy physical price, with Saibari and Gnabry both forced off with injuries in the first half. At the end of this intense match, both teams remain level on 18 points. However, the Munich club retains first place thanks to a superior goal difference.
