CAN 2025 : le TAS fixe la date de l’audience dans le dossier de la finale Sénégal-Maroc
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has scheduled a hearing for Thursday, October 8, 2026, regarding the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). The hearing will be held behind closed doors at the CAS headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The saga surrounding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final has reached a new stage. In an operational note published on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the Court of Arbitration for Sport announced that the hearing regarding the Senegalese Football Federation's (FSF) appeal will be held on Thursday, October 8, starting at 9:30 a.m.
The hearing will be held in person and behind closed doors, as the parties have not requested that it be open to the public. The media will therefore not be able to attend the proceedings directly.
According to the CAS, the hearing is expected to continue into the afternoon. Following the hearing, the arbitral panel will begin its deliberations. The court clarifies, however, that no decision will be issued that same day. At this stage, the CAS is unable to indicate when its final decision will be delivered.
The arbitration panel will consist of three members: Professor Gérald Simon (France), chairman of the panel; Professor Luigi Fumagalli (Italy); Professor Dr. Ulrich Haas (Germany).
The procedure will be conducted in French, in accordance with the agreement of the various parties.
Representatives from the Senegalese Football Federation and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation will travel to Lausanne to attend the hearing. CAF will be represented by its legal counsel. Journalists wishing to cover the event from outside the CAS headquarters should contact the tribunal's media office and present a valid press card.
The CAS also indicates that any new announcements concerning this procedure will be published on its website.
