CAN féminine de volleyball : Les Lionnes du Sénégal dans le groupe B
The Senegalese women's national volleyball team is preparing to participate in the 2026 African Women's Championship, organized by the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB). The competition will take place from August 23 to September 5 in Nairobi, Kenya.
For this edition, 16 African nations are competing for the continental title. Senegal shares Group B with Egypt, Uganda, and Burkina Faso.
The Lionesses will therefore have to face Egypt, one of the benchmarks of African volleyball, and test themselves against Uganda and Burkina Faso in order to secure their qualification for the second round.
In the other groupings, Group A includes the host country, Kenya, Mali, and Zambia. Group C comprises Cameroon, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Ghana. Finally, Group D consists of Rwanda, Algeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burundi.
Senegal's objective will be to make a strong start and overcome the group stage hurdle. Facing opponents with varying profiles, the Lionesses will need to demonstrate consistency, solidarity, and efficiency if they hope to continue their journey in this AFCON.
The date is therefore set for Nairobi from August 23 to September 5 for a new continental battle, with the Lionesses in Group B.
