"It's hard to accept given everything he represents for us."
Leandro Paredes, moreover, told the Argentinian press that it was difficult for him to accept Messi's departure.
“It was devastating. The whole country and the football world certainly felt it too, given what Leo represents for football, for us and for our country… He had told us that the final (of the 2026 World Cup) would probably be his last match. We knew that, but we weren’t prepared for it. We had many conversations about it, and yes, it’s difficult to accept given everything he represents for us,” said the fiery Albiceleste midfielder.
It must be said that Messi was omnipresent in the Argentinian game. He solved all the problems on and off the field.
