Changement de staff, Retour en sélection: Pape Gueye brise le silence
At a press conference held in Marseille on Sunday, the day before the friendly match against Comoros, Senegalese midfielder Pape Gueye was questioned about his statement made after Senegal's elimination in the round of 32 of the World Cup against Belgium. At the time, the player had announced that he would not return to the national team as long as the previous coaching staff remained in place, promising to explain the reasons for his decision later.
Since then, the coaching staff has changed, and Pape Gueye has finally returned to the national team. When asked about the reasons for his return, the midfielder explained that his decision was primarily linked to the change in coaching staff.
"The answer is in your question. If I'm here today, it's a position I took and that I was going to stand by. Today, I'm very happy to be here and I'm going to do my best to help this team. I think that's the most important thing," he said.
The player did not rule out, however, returning one day to a more detailed account of the circumstances that led him to distance himself from the national team. "Perhaps if I wish, there will be an opportunity to talk about it, but it's not the most important thing today," he added.
Pape Gueye now prefers to focus on the present and working with the new staff. "As the coach said, there is a new staff here. We are working well, everyone is listening in training. We are trying to put everything in place to respect what the coach asks," he explained.
"It's true that we're used to winning in recent years. That's a good thing, but it takes time to get back to that level," he concluded.

Espérons qu'il retrouve rapidement ses marques.
D'ailleurs c'est parfois la raison qui pousse certains de se taire finalement sur beaucoup de choses et de s'enfermer sur eux même.
Il.devait au minimum etre sanciontionner soit ses primes de match soit des excuses publiques
