Congo : Omar Daf nommé sélectionneur des U23
Senegalese coach Omar Daf continues his adventure in Congo. The former Senegalese international has been officially appointed head coach of the U23 national team, the Red Devils (Devils Rouges Espoirs), by the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT). The appointment was formalized on October 1, 2026, and bears the signature of the new FECOFOOT president, Éric Alain Mantot. This is a new responsibility for Omar Daf, who is already familiar with the Congolese football environment.
Having arrived in the country last June, the former Lions defender joined the senior national team staff as Claude Le Roy's assistant. He will now take charge of the U23 team with the mission of contributing to its rebuilding and preparing a new generation of players.
To assist him in this mission, Omar Daf will be able to count on another former Senegalese international. Oumar Diallo has been appointed goalkeeping coach for the U23 team.
