Coupe du monde 2026 : Harry Kane bat le record d’une légende anglaise
With each competition, Harry Kane continues to write a little more English football history. The Three Lions striker reached a new milestone this Saturday by scoring one of the two goals in England's 2-0 victory over Panama, during the third matchday of Group L at the 2026 World Cup.
This achievement allows the English captain to become England's all-time leading scorer in the World Cup. With 11 goals now scored in the competition, the Bayern Munich striker surpasses the previous record holder, Gary Lineker, who had found the net ten times for England in the World Cup finals.
Already England's all-time leading scorer (82 goals), Harry Kane adds another prestigious achievement to his personal record. At 32, he confirms his status as the Three Lions' attacking leader and continues his quest for a first World Cup title with his national team.
This new record illustrates once again the consistency and effectiveness of the English striker in major international events, where he continues to leave his mark on the history of football in his country.
