Demi-finale Tournoi UFOA-A U20 Sénégal/ Guinée, une double qualification en jeu
Senegal faces a crucial match against Guinea this Sunday in the semi-final of the WAFU-A U20 tournament. At the Mamadou-Konaté stadium in Bamako, the Young Lions are aiming for qualification to the final, but also a ticket to the next U20 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Ghana.
Malick Daf's men approach this match with plenty of confidence after finishing top of Group B with four points. Having defeated Mauritania (2-1) in their opening game, the Senegalese were then held to a draw by Sierra Leone (0-0). Against the Syli National, the two-time defending champions will need to be more clinical in front of goal if they hope to continue their run and remain in contention to retain their title.
Guinea also presents a strong case. Finishing second in Group A, the Guinean national team began the competition with two consecutive victories against host nation Mali (1-0) and Liberia (1-0). However, they ended the group stage with a defeat against Gambia (1-2).
This match is therefore crucial for both teams. Beyond a place in the final, a victory would secure either Senegal or Guinea's qualification for the next U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Moussa Guèye and his teammates have been warned: they will need to rediscover their attacking prowess to overcome this obstacle and move closer to another title.
