Dettes, dépenses, économies… : la Ligue pro dévoile ses chiffres
The Senegalese Professional Football League (LSFP) held its ordinary general assembly last Saturday at the Léopold Senghor Stadium. The meeting, opened by the president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Fall, provided an opportunity for the head of the professional league, Babacar Ndiaye, who chaired the proceedings, to commend the efforts undertaken by the federation to improve its finances. Illustrating this improvement: "The 2025-2026 season closed with a positive balance of 78,613,055 CFA francs," reports L'Observateur, which covered the meeting.
To achieve this result, Babacar Ndiaye and his teams activated two levers, according to the report in the daily news publication of the Future Media Group: "better control of expenses and greater transparency".
Another financial achievement: the 121.4 million CFA francs of debts settled. These cover the period 2021-2025, before the arrival of the new management team of the Professional League, and mainly concern "bonuses owed to the champions and runners-up of Ligue 2 in recent seasons as well as to the winners of the League Cup," L'Observateur specifies.
"The signal is encouraging, but it must be viewed with caution," the newspaper cautions. "The clearing of old debts was made possible by the support of the Federation and not solely by the League's own resources."
