District de Dakar : Battu par Mbaye Diop, Jamaïcain crie au vol
Defeated in the Dakar District elective general assembly, the Jamaican promoter is crying foul. He is contesting Mbaye Diop's victory and announcing an appeal, claiming that the election was marred by several irregularities, reports Record.
To support his accusations, the unsuccessful candidate points to three cases he considers problematic. First, he cites Ibrahima Diouf, known as "Ibou Diouf," presented as the technical director of the Rock Énergie stable, who allegedly voted under the banner of another stable. Next, he mentions Babacar Diop, a referee, who is said to have obtained a mandate from a stable to participate in the vote. Finally, he implicates Thiouth, trainer of the Fass Benno stable, who allegedly voted under the Door Dooraat banner.
Jamaican, quoted by the sports daily, denounced these situations as irregularities that could have influenced the election results. "They committed fraud: they are cheaters," he declared after the results were announced.
Believing he has evidence, the promoter announces his intention to appeal to the commission to request the annulment of the elections. Despite this challenge, the specialized newspaper notes that Jamaican and Mbaye Diop remained side by side throughout the assembly, displaying a certain degree of complicity.
