Drogue : la Fédération sénégalaise de lutte instaure des sanctions disciplinaires plus sévères
The Senegalese Wrestling Federation (FSL) is cracking down. In a circular addressed to league presidents, wrestlers, coaches, and affiliated amateurs, the federation announces stricter disciplinary sanctions against any licensed member involved in drug-related cases.
The Senegalese Wrestling Federation (FSL) expressed its "deep concern" regarding the resurgence of alleged involvement of certain figures in the sport in cases of drug possession, use, or trafficking. According to the FSL, these cases, which have led to several arrests and legal proceedings, seriously damage the image, credibility, and educational, civic, and sporting values of Senegalese wrestling.
In this context, the Federation now establishes an immediate precautionary suspension against any wrestler or licensed individual who is the subject of an arrest or legal proceedings for alleged acts of possession, use, trafficking, transfer, complicity or any other offence related to narcotics.
The FSL specifies that in the event of a final conviction, the person concerned will be sanctioned with a firm five-year suspension from any activity organized or recognized by the Federation, without prejudice to the penalties provided for by the laws and regulations in force.
With this decision, the Senegalese Wrestling Federation intends to preserve the moral and sporting integrity of the discipline and send a message of firmness against any behavior likely to tarnish the image of Senegalese wrestling.
