Éliminatoires Mondial basket 2027 : Le Sénégal domine le Mali et revient en tête du groupe F
The Lions concluded the fourth window of the 2027 Basketball World Cup qualifiers in style, winning convincingly against Mali 97-71 on Sunday at the Dakar Arena.
After their defeat against Egypt, Desagana Diop's men responded perfectly. They first snatched a valuable victory against Angola before confirming their return to form against Mali.
From the opening minutes, the Lions took control of the match and never allowed their opponents a chance of a comeback. Solid defensively and efficient offensively, they controlled the game from start to finish.
This victory is Senegal's second in this fourth window and allows the Lions to record their seventh success in the competition.
In Group F, Senegal joins Ivory Coast at the top of the table with 16 points. The two teams now share first place at the end of this window. The Lions will need to remain focused, however.
The fifth and final window, scheduled for February, will be decisive for qualification for the 2027 World Cup. Senegal will then have one last opportunity to confirm its place among the qualified teams.
