Éliminatoires Mondial de basket : Le Sénégal arrache une précieuse victoire face à l’Angola
Senegal has relaunched its hopes of qualifying for the 2027 Basketball World Cup. Facing Angola this Saturday at Dakar Arena, in the fourth window of the qualifiers, the Lions prevailed after a particularly hard-fought match, with a score of 84 to 82.
After their defeat against Egypt in their first match of this window, Desagana's men were under pressure to bounce back. Against Angola, they delivered an intense encounter, undecided until the final seconds.
The two teams remained neck and neck for much of the game, trading baskets. With the suspense at its peak in the final minute, Brancou Badio stepped up. His three-pointer gave the Lions the lead and swung the game in their favor.
Senegal ultimately prevailed 84-82 and secured an important victory in front of their home crowd at Dakar Arena.
With this victory, the Lions have partially erased their defeat against Egypt and reignited their World Cup qualification hopes. They will now need to confirm this performance in their next match to continue their march towards qualification.
