Rayan Cherki made a stunning debut for Les Bleus, playing a key role in France's dramatic 4-1 victory over Belgium. But he also took the opportunity to share some important messages with TF1 after the match.

Not necessarily a straightforward match, this fourth Nations League game between France and Belgium began with a strong Belgian start, taking a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. A goal from Dodi Lukébakio in the 77th minute sparked a French comeback. Led by Michael Olise, Désiré Doué, and Rayan Cherki , Les Bleus put the Red Devils through the wringer to secure a 4-1 victory .

Rayan Cherki was involved in all the positive aspects of the game, and he was expected to speak after the match. While he discussed his strong performance and the positive reaction of the French team, he didn't hesitate to call out his critics. He had already reacted angrily to an article in L'Équipe that suggested a possible falling out between him and Michael Olise. " Another fabrication... brilliant inspiration... " he had posted on social media .

Rayan Cherki dismantles the criticisms

After demonstrating his rapport with the Bayern Munich player on the pitch, he reiterated this point in an interview with TF1 after the match. " Contrary to what some might say (smiling)... I'm going to start reacting less. You shouldn't listen to everything that's said in the press about all the players, " he declared. It was a way of letting go of the feelings he'd had over the past few hours.

He then had a message of praise for the entire French team: " We have extraordinary team cohesion. You didn't see that, because it's something we do privately, between us. I've rarely known a group that plays so well from the first player to the last. From the first member to the last member of the staff. It's fantastic, and you can feel it on the pitch, I have to tell you. " He also emphasized that he was in a new role with Les Bleus and that he should be judged accordingly.

“ You talked about my dribbling and passing, but I’m in a position right now where I’m forcing myself to play complete and clean matches. True football connoisseurs understand that. Those who think otherwise don’t get it; I’ve learned to play in a new position. I have to play clean and consistent matches, and it’s a position I like, and you’ll see over time that it will become easier, ” he added. That says it all.
