Cameroon national team: A key player of the Indomitable Lions announces his international retirement

A new chapter begins for the Indomitable Lions. Frank Zambo Anguissa has officially decided to end his time with the Cameroonian national team. The Napoli midfielder announced his international retirement this Monday, after several years representing his country.

In a message posted on his social media, the player explained that this decision brought an end to a particularly significant experience in his career.

For Anguissa, wearing the Cameroonian jersey represented above all the fulfillment of a childhood dream. "Playing for the Cameroonian national team is the dream of every Cameroonian child," he wrote, before expressing his gratitude for having had the opportunity to realize this dream.

The Napoli player also highlighted the immense pride he felt when wearing the Indomitable Lions jersey.

An emotionally charged decision

In his farewell message, Frank Zambo Anguissa (67 caps and 5 goals) reflected on his many years with the Cameroonian national team. The midfielder recalled the memories he accumulated over the years, as well as the bonds he forged with his teammates and staff members.

The Cameroonian international made a point of thanking everyone who had supported him throughout his time with the national team. The Cameroonian federation, his various coaches, his teammates, and the entire Cameroonian people were all included in his expressions of gratitude.

Anguissa also paid tribute to the supporters of the Indomitable Lions, who he said were present both during successes and during more complicated periods.

"I leave the national team with a great deal of emotion and pride," he confided, before concluding his message with a symbolic phrase: "Once an Indomitable Lion, always an Indomitable Lion."

This announcement therefore marks the end of an important chapter for the midfielder, who leaves the Cameroonian national team with the feeling of having fulfilled a dream and having represented his country with pride.
