Ethiopia vs. Senegal this Tuesday: Patrick Vieira's very clear message to his stars

At a press conference this Monday, on the eve of Tuesday's match between Ethiopia and Senegal, Patrick Vieira clearly stated his ambitions. The Lions' coach wants to leave with all three points, while urging his players to show humility and respect against an Ethiopian team he considers well-organized.

“Our objective is to win today’s match. We said it, and now we have to demonstrate it,” the Senegalese coach told reporters.

Vieira expects a tough match against an opponent he has taken the time to analyze. "We know we're going to face a well-organized team. We watched their last match and they are a well-balanced team," he emphasized.

To make the difference, the coach is counting in particular on the pace and ability of his players to find spaces in the opposing block.

"It will be important for us to play with rhythm, tempo, and to try to find our players between the lines," explained the Lions' bench boss, while insisting on the need to approach the match with a lot of humility.

" To win a match, you need more than just talent."

Patrick Vieira also spoke about the individual talent within his squad. While acknowledging the presence of many world-class players, he believes that talent alone will not be enough to secure victory.

“When you look at the collective and individual quality of Senegal, there are a lot of players with a lot of talent. But to win a match, you need more than talent,” he stated.

For the coach, the absolute priority must remain team cohesion. "Through the collective, talent always shines through. That's why the message was very clear to the players: we must play a complete match collectively to allow us to win," he insisted.

Vieira concluded by issuing a clear warning to his team: "If we don't play a cohesive match as a team, we'll make the game much more difficult for us."
