France: non-lieu dans l'enquête visant le PSG pour harcèlement moral sur Kylian Mbappé
The Parisian investigating judges in charge of the investigations targeting Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for moral harassment against Kylian Mbappé have dismissed the case, two sources close to the matter told AFP on Friday.
Kylian Mbappé had taken legal action against his former club, leading to the opening of a judicial investigation, then withdrew his complaint in July 2025.
At the end of May 2026, the investigating judges dismissed the case due to a lack of sufficient evidence, one of the sources close to the case said.
According to this source, the magistrates noted that the footballer had "withdrawn his complaint" and had "publicly announced this in the press." In their view, it was therefore "impossible to investigate." Indeed, "there would be no point in questioning the witnesses and those implicated" when "the complainant himself does not support them."
According to a source close to the case, the magistrates anticipated that those implicated "could only refer to this withdrawal" to avoid answering questions.
When contacted by AFP, Pierre-Olivier Sur, the lawyer for the footballer now at Real Madrid, declined to comment. PSG also declined to comment.
The complaint, filed in May 2025, for moral harassment and attempted extortion of signature, by the captain of the French team targeted the practice of the "loft", where Mbappé had been placed in the summer of 2023.
This practice, which is common in football clubs, involves excluding players from the squad and is already the subject of several investigations in Paris.
Mbappé left PSG on a free transfer at the end of his contract in 2024, to join Real Madrid.
A financial dispute then arose between the French football star and the capital club, concerning significant compensation for unpaid wages, bonuses and leave that he claimed, and finally obtained in the labor court.
On December 16, PSG was ordered to pay nearly 61 million euros, and decided not to appeal this decision, which became final.
