Ghana : après la mort de Cheikh Touré, une Sénégalaise sauvée in extremis
Cheikh Touré, a 17-year-old Senegalese goalkeeper lured by fake recruiters who turned into kidnappers, was not so lucky. Killed in Ghana, his body arrived in Dakar on November 1, 2026. The Senegalese embassy in Accra had arranged for the transport of the body.
According to "Les Échos," another Senegalese national escaped a terrible fate in Ghana. She was rescued from being held in conditions of alleged kidnapping and exploitation by an individual linked to a QNet-type fraud network.
As in many similar cases, the young woman was allegedly lured abroad by false promises of employment, training, or high income. Once there, victims can find themselves deprived of their documents, isolated, and forced to join pyramid schemes.
The newspaper explains that this system relies on "the recruitment of new members, who generally have to pay to join the network and are encouraged to recruit others in turn, with the promised earnings depending more on the arrival of new members than on the actual sale of products or services."
Her rescue was made possible thanks to the intervention of local residents and activists, with the support of the Ghanaian police. Her repatriation to Senegal is underway. Unlike Cheikh Touré, she is returning home alive.
