Ismaïla Sarr, Saly Sarr, Sa Thiès… The big winners of the ANPS Awards 2026

Senegalese football, athletics and wrestling have their new champions for the 2025-2026 season. Following the counting of votes for the ANPS Awards 2026, held this Thursday, October 22, several emblematic figures of national sport have risen to the top of their respective disciplines.

After a remarkable season with Crystal Palace in England, Ismaïla Sarr has won the Jules François Bocandé Trophy, awarded to the best Senegalese footballer playing abroad. The Lions' striker overwhelmingly won the vote with 164 points, ahead of goalkeeper Édouard Mendy (108 points) and Sadio Mané (103 points).

In the women's category, the queen of Senegalese sport is Saly Sarr. The athlete won the Amadou Dia Bâ Trophy, awarded to the best female sportswoman of the year, with an overwhelming total of 300 points. She finished well ahead of Cheikh Thiam, a savate boxing specialist (96 points), and swimmer Oumy Diop, who completed the podium with 77 points.

The local football championship was also honored. The Ibrahima Coulibaly Trophy, awarded to the best player in the Senegalese Ligue 1, was given to Moustapha Guèye. The solid defender from Teungueth FC won with 136 points, just ahead of Abdourahmane Mbodji of Génération Foot (128 points) and Mouhamed Diop of AJEL de Rufisque (91 points).

In the world of Senegalese wrestling, the title of best wrestler of the 2025-2026 season goes to Sa Thiès. The leader of the Double Less stable takes the crown with 213 points, finishing ahead of Franc (182 points) and Reug Reug (89 points).

Finally, in wrestling without striking (simple), Ngagne Sène confirms his dominance. The leader of the Kaye Bakh stable from Rufisque retains the Abdourahmane Ndiaye Falang Trophy, accumulating 196 points.

Having already won the title in 2025, the wrestler achieves a historic consecutive double.
