JOJ 2026 : Ce qui est prévu pour la cérémonie de clôture
The closing ceremony of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be a low-key affair, held in the heart of the Olympic Village with only a small audience and athletes in attendance, continuing the tradition of previous editions. This was revealed on Thursday by Ibrahima Wade, the general coordinator of the Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (COJOJ), during an interview with the Senegalese Press Agency (APS).
“As has been the case everywhere for recent editions, notably in Buenos Aires in 2018, it will be a low-key ceremony with the athletes and a very small audience,” he specified.
According to Ibrahima Wade, the principle agreed upon by common accord favours a short format to mark the official end of the continental competition, the end of which is set for November 13.
The event will not have the same grand character as the opening ceremony, which featured a spectacular sound and light show. However, the COJOJ coordinator emphasized that state authorities and local communities retain full discretion to organize large-scale festivities to celebrate youth, should they wish to do so.
