Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games: The PAD and ANAM join forces for the success of the Olympic event

In keeping with the momentum initiated by the President of the Republic, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, regarding the organization of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the Autonomous Port of Dakar (PAD) and the National Maritime Affairs Agency (ANAM) are joining forces to make this event a resounding success. The two institutions are thus aligning their actions perfectly with the presidential project, which envisions the YOG as a unifying event for the entire nation.

It is in this spirit that a meeting brought together the two structures, under the direction of their respective general managers, Mr. Doune Pathé Mbengue and Mr. Mamadou Thiaw, in order to define the outlines of a collaboration in service of this historic event — the first of its kind organized on the African continent — and to translate the ambition carried by the highest authorities of the country.

A convergence of views between the PAD and the ANAM

During this exchange, the two institutions shared a common conviction: to put their complementary expertise at the service of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, in perfect alignment with the guidelines set by the Head of State. Recognizing the strategic importance of this event for Senegal's international standing, the Port Authority of Dakar (PAD) and the National Agency for Maritime Affairs (ANAM) expressed their full readiness to play a key role in organizing the Games, alongside the State and all stakeholders.

A joint commitment to a historic event

At the end of this meeting, the PAD and ANAM formalized their commitment to contribute significantly to the success of this major event. This alliance between the two pillars of the national maritime and port sector reflects a strong collective mobilization, rooted in the public policy guidelines defined at the highest level of the State.

Through this joint approach, the Autonomous Port of Dakar and the National Maritime Affairs Agency confirm their position as committed and complementary actors, in line with the vision of the President of the Republic for a sovereign, united and mobilized Senegal around this major sporting event.
