Preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games are accompanied by initiatives aimed at strengthening career prospects for young Senegalese people. Launched Tuesday in Dakar, the "AGL Youth Tour" caravan aims to bring young people closer to the world of work and introduce them to sectors offering promising opportunities.

Scheduled from October 31 to November 13, this tour will link Dakar to Saly, with stops in several locations. The program includes activities to discover different professions, educational and career guidance sessions, exchanges of experiences, and awareness-raising initiatives on entrepreneurship.

Beyond the sporting dimension of the Games, this initiative aims to contribute to the building of a lasting human and social legacy, with an emphasis on skills development and the professional integration of young people.

A Youth Olympic Games legacy beyond the competitions

For Pascal Grellier, Managing Director of AGL Senegal, the company's commitment is not limited to its operational contribution to the organization of the Games. It also reflects a desire to participate in the development of young people.

"Our commitment goes beyond our operational contribution to the Games. We also want to participate in building a lasting human and social legacy, particularly for the benefit of young people," he said.

For the Organising Committee of the Youth Olympic Games (COJOJ), the "AGL Youth Tour" is presented as a complement to the programme of the Games.

Lucas Syllou Goth, marketing and partnerships director of the COJOJ, emphasized the importance of this initiative, which aims to promote encounters between cultures and territories, beyond competitions and medals.

By giving young people the opportunity to discover different professions and to exchange with professionals, the caravan aims to contribute to a better understanding of the opportunities available, particularly in the fields of transport and logistics.
