Kalidou Koulibaly : « Nous n’avons rien à prouver à personne »
On the eve of the clash against France, Kalidou Koulibaly sought to reassure everyone about his physical condition. Speaking to Le Soleil Digital, the Lions' captain confirmed he is fully available for the squad, while leaving the decision regarding his participation to the coach.
"The most important thing is that I am fit and available for the team. I have worked hard to be ready for this World Cup and I thank the medical and technical staff, as well as Al Hilal, for their support."
The experienced defender believes Senegal is approaching this competition with confidence, without needing to prove itself. "We have nothing to prove to anyone. We won this AFCON on the pitch. Today, people are talking more about Senegal and perhaps starting to fear us a little more, but it's still just a football match."
Aware of the challenge facing the Lions against Les Bleus, Koulibaly remains ambitious. "France is still a great footballing nation, two-time world champions and finalists in the last two World Cups. But we are motivated and we will do everything to make a strong start to the competition."
