Ligue des champions CAF : Le Teungueth FC s’envole pour la Guinée-Bissau avec de grandes ambitions
The champion of Senegal Teungueth FC begins its African campaign. The Rufisque club has headed to Guinea-Bissau to face FC Canchungo on Saturday at 4 p.m., in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Teungueth FC is now focused on the African stage. The Rufisque-based club has left Senegal for Guinea-Bissau, where it will play its first match of the new Champions League campaign.
For this important away match, the coaching staff has selected a squad bolstered by several new signings from the local transfer market. Patrick Basse, Ibrahima Aidara, and Mbaye Ndiaye are among the new faces called up for this continental expedition. The objective is clear for the Rufisque side: to return from Guinea-Bissau with a positive result. Kick-off is scheduled for this Saturday at 4 p.m. against FC Canchungo.
Teungueth FC hopes to gain a significant advantage before the return leg at home. A strong away performance would allow Malick Daf's men to approach the second leg with greater composure and confidence.
The Rufisque club also harbors the ambition of returning to a memorable African campaign. During the 2020-2021 season, Teungueth FC managed to reach the group stage of the Champions League, a historic first for Senegalese football.
Five years later, the Senegalese champion wants to once again establish itself among the leading African representatives.
