England thrashed a Croatian team with a very poor defence 7-0 on Saturday in the Nations League in Rijeka, where the English attacking quartet put on a show in a strange atmosphere.

The match, scheduled to be played behind closed doors for disciplinary reasons, took place in front of more than 6,000 children invited by the Croatian federation, as permitted by the regulations, and in front of about a hundred visiting supporters.

They feasted on goals from Harry Kane (8th, 53rd) and Bukayo Saka (45th, 68th), a goal from the in-form Anthony Gordon (39th), another from No. 10 Jude Bellingham (21st), who also provided three assists, and a final one from substitute Morgan Rogers (87th).

England, second in their group with six points, are now level on points with leaders Spain (1st, 6 pts) while awaiting the match between the world champions and the Czech Republic (4th, 0 pts) this evening. Croatia are third with three points.
