Limogeage de Pape Thiaw : Djirèye Clotilde Coly s’en mêle
The Executive Committee (Comex) of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has officially dismissed national team coach Pape Thiaw. His contract having been renewed during the World Cup, he will likely need to be paid severance pay to ensure a smooth transition.
In this context, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the coach's employer, wants clarity. L'Observateur reports that Djirèye Clotilde Coly's office, through official correspondence, has indeed requested the federal body to specify the amount of compensation owed to the dismissed coach.
Last Friday, the day before the Executive Committee meeting that would seal Pape Thiaw's fate, the matter was on the agenda of the audience that the Minister of Youth and Sports granted to the President of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), Abdoulaye Fall. After being informed by Fall of the federation's intention to part ways with the now former coach of the Lions, the ministry's staff asked him to specify the amount of the severance pay.
"Against all expectations, the Federation president was unable to provide convincing explanations to the governing body. Remaining perpetually vague, he allowed the meeting to end in total confusion," reports L'Observateur. The newspaper predicts that "a legal and financial battle is brewing between the coach and his now former employer."
