The goalkeeping hierarchy for the Senegalese national team remains open. When asked about Mamour Ndiaye's progress at Saint-Étienne, Patrick Vieira praised the goalkeeper's performances, noting his growing experience and playing time. The national team coach believes the young goalkeeper displayed impressive qualities during the last international break, particularly in terms of character and personality.
"In this last gathering, he showed a lot of character, a lot of personality and above all what I like about him is that he is someone who is very ambitious," Vieira said.
The coach acknowledges that Mamour Ndiaye is starting to put pressure on the other goalkeepers, a situation which he considers positive for competition within the group.
Regarding his starting lineup for the next match, Patrick Vieira prefers to wait for the players to arrive and observe the training sessions before making a decision. "My choice is not yet final. I will see how they arrive, how things go in training before making a decision," he explained.
