Specialized commentator Modou Mbaye has spoken about Modou Lô's status within the elite of Senegalese wrestling. Despite his recent defeat against Sa Thiès, the champion from Parcelles Assainies, according to him, retains his rightful place among the top wrestlers.
“Modou Lô remains a VIP wrestler. He lost the throne to Sa Thiès, but it’s only one defeat. If he were to suffer a second consecutive loss, he could be dropped from this circle. For the moment, he fully deserves his place among the VIPs,” the speaker maintained.
Modou Mbaye recalled the remarkable longevity of the former King of the Arenas at the top of the sport. He emphasized that, with the exception of Yékini, very few VIPs can boast such a reign in the modern history of Senegalese wrestling.
Continuing his analysis, the presenter highlighted a clear break between Modou Lô and other iconic figures. "Modou Lô remains a VIP, unlike Balla Gaye 2, Eumeu Sène, Tapha Tine and Boy Niang 2. The latter are no longer in the inner circle; they are now out," he declared.
Modou Mbaye took advantage of his public appearance to level accusations against the governing bodies. He accuses the promoters of having rushed the creation of the new Senegalese Wrestling Federation in order to "remove Malick Ngom" and to maneuver without any checks and balances.
