Lutte sénégalaise : CANAL+ décroche les droits exclusifs de six grands événements pour la saison 2026-2027
Senegalese wrestling has reached a new milestone in its international media exposure. CANAL+ and BEUZ PRO have announced the signing of a strategic partnership for the exclusive broadcasting rights to six major wrestling events for the 2026-2027 season. This agreement covers French-, English-, and Portuguese-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, with broadcasts planned in more than 40 countries.
Through this initiative, the two partners aim to increase the visibility of a sport deeply rooted in Senegalese culture and followed by an ever-growing audience. The fights will be broadcast live on CANAL+ SPORT channels, in French and Wolof, as well as on SUPERSPORT, in English.
The announced calendar will open on November 29, 2026 with "The Verdict", which will pit Ada Fass against Balla Gaye 2. On January 3, 2027, fans will once again see "The Royal Fight", with the match between Sa Thiès and Siteu.
On February 7, 2027, "The Battle of the Millennium" will pit Franc against Reug Reug. On April 4, 2027, the "Independence Derby" will feature two major confrontations: Ama Baldé against Lac de Guiers 2, followed by Eumeu Sène against Jackson.
Two other events are also planned for June and July 2027. Their posters have not yet been revealed.
The production of these six events will be handled by BEUZ PRO, in collaboration with two major promoters in the Senegalese wrestling scene, Al Bourakh Events and Jambaar Productions. The aim is to offer a program featuring iconic figures in wrestling and to meet the growing public interest in high-profile matches.
For Ibrahima Faye, CEO of BEUZ PRO , this partnership represents a turning point for the sport. "This partnership is a historic step for Senegalese wrestling," he stated, emphasizing the desire to give the sport greater visibility across sub-Saharan Africa.
For his part, the managing director of CANAL+ Africa, David Mignot, reaffirmed the group's ambition to develop its offering of African content. He specifically mentioned the broadcast of "Combat Royal" last April on CANAL+ SPORT 1, before emphasizing that this new agreement should allow Senegalese wrestling to benefit from exceptional exposure in more than 40 countries.
