Manifestations en France : Galatasaray réclame des garanties de sécurité avant son déplacement à Lille
Two days before their Champions League match against LOSC Lille, Galatasaray has expressed concerns about the security situation in France. The Turkish club, which includes Senegalese player Ismail Jakobs, has reportedly contacted UEFA to request assurances regarding the protection of its delegation.
The tense social climate in France is causing concern within the Istanbul-based club. According to the Turkish news agency DHA, Galatasaray has expressed its concerns to the European governing body and requested security guarantees before its arrival in Lille.
Despite these concerns, French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez confirmed that the match scheduled for Wednesday between LOSC and Galatasaray would go ahead. However, this decision does not appear to have allayed the Turkish club's fears.
Recent events in France, particularly in the North, have fueled these questions. On Saturday, incidents led to the looting of the official Lille club store. LOSC reacted by condemning these acts.
In this context, Galatasaray wishes to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to guarantee the safety of its players, staff and entire delegation during this trip.
