Match nul du Sénégal contre le Mozambique : « Une déception », selon Rémy Ngono
Senegal failed to live up to expectations yesterday Friday against Mozambique, in their opening match of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. The Lions were held to a draw (1-1) by a valiant Mambas team in Maputo.
"You come across Mozambique, you have to crush that."
According to renowned Radio Foot International consultant J. Rémy Ngono, this result is "a disappointment".
"Mozambique is coming off a run of nine matches, with only one win. Mozambique was beaten by Oman (4-1) and by Indonesia (1-0). For a Senegal team that had played 34 AFCON matches, you come up against Mozambique, you have to crush them. It's a disappointment," said the Cameroonian sports journalist.
He dismissed out of hand the arguments that tend to justify this poor result by the renewal of the Lions' squad.
“There’s still Pape Guèye. In attack, you have Nicolas Jackson who’s still there. You have Ismaila Sarr who could be there. Iliman Ndiaye who plays for a big club. I don’t see how anyone can tell me that this team, which still has its full squad, should have any difficulties,” said Rémy Ngono.
