Meilleur joueur Premier League 2025-2026 : Bruno Fernandes récompensé par ses pairs
Bruno Fernandes has just added another major accolade to his list of achievements. The Manchester United attacking midfielder has been named Premier League Player of the Season for 2025-2026, succeeding Mohamed Salah.
The Portuguese player was lauded by his peers after a particularly successful season. Providing 21 assists in the league, a record for a single Premier League season, Fernandes also scored 9 goals in 35 appearances. These statistics have largely contributed to making him one of the most influential players in the league.
This award confirms an exceptional season for the Red Devils' captain. A few weeks earlier, he had already been recognized by the Football Writers Association, which brings together journalists specializing in English football.
Fernandes was up against several players who had a standout season in 2025-2026. Among the finalists were David Raya, Declan Rice, and Gabriel, all three members of Arsenal, the English champions. Manchester City representatives Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo, the latter having started the season at Bournemouth, were also in contention. Igor Thiago of Brentford and Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest completed the list.
With this trophy, Bruno Fernandes further cements his place in Manchester United's history. He becomes the first player from the club to receive this distinction since Nemanja Vidic, who was awarded it at the end of the 2010-2011 season.
At 31, the Portuguese player thus confirms his status as leader of the Red Devils and establishes himself as one of the key figures in Manchester's Premier League campaign.
