Mercato : Ayyoub Bouaddi transféré du LOSC à Manchester City pour 100 millions d'euros
This is a bombshell in the transfer market. The directors of LOSC and their counterparts at Manchester City reached a full agreement this Sunday, August 23, 2026, for the transfer of the highly promising Moroccan international midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi (18 years old).
Present in the stands at the Raymond-Kopa stadium for the match between Lille and Angers, the young talent (8 caps) did not play. Although under contract with the northern club until June 2029, he will no longer wear the Lille jersey.
A record transfer for LOSC and French football
The two clubs have agreed on a five-year contract, with an option for a sixth year. The total transfer fee amounts to €100 million, including bonuses.
This transaction sets a double record. At LOSC level, it becomes the biggest departure in the club's history, surpassing Nicolas Pépé's sale to Arsenal for 80 million euros in 2019. At Ligue 1 level, it is the largest sale ever made by a French club to a foreign league.
Ayyoub Bouaddi is expected in the north of England as early as Monday to undergo the traditional medical examination and sign his contract. After playing in his first World Cup this summer, the French-Moroccan will have the weighty responsibility of succeeding Spaniard Rodri, the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner, who left for FC Barcelona this summer, in Manchester United's midfield.
