Mercato : Manchester United boucle l’arrivée de Carlos Baleba pour 82 millions d’euros
Manchester United have secured a significant new addition to their midfield. The Red Devils have reportedly reached an agreement with Brighton for the transfer of Cameroonian international Carlos Baleba, in a deal estimated at €82 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 22-year-old midfielder is coming off a particularly busy 2025-2026 season, with 35 appearances in all competitions for Brighton. His physical profile and ability to get forward convinced the Manchester club, who are thus continuing their significant overhaul of their midfield.
Trained in Cameroon before joining LOSC, Baleba left Lille for Brighton in 2023. His time in the Premier League allowed him to take a new step and attract the attention of several major European clubs.
At Manchester United, the Cameroonian is expected to join a midfield that has undergone a major overhaul this summer, following the arrivals of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. His signing also reflects the Red Devils' desire to invest in players capable of bringing more impact and dynamism to this area of the pitch.
Lille, for its part, could also benefit from this transaction. The northern club reportedly negotiated a percentage of the profit Brighton made on Baleba's resale. This clause could therefore allow LOSC to receive an additional sum thanks to the Cameroonian's soaring value.
