Mercato : Mory Diaw se rapproche d’Al-Shabab en Arabie Saoudite
The Senegalese contingent in the Saudi Pro League could soon expand. According to L'Équipe, Le Havre AC goalkeeper Mory Diaw is on the verge of leaving Normandy to join Al-Shabab.
The 33-year-old Senegalese international goalkeeper was still in the Le Havre squad on Sunday for their opening Ligue 1 match against AS Monaco (0-1). However, his move to Saudi Arabia is becoming increasingly likely, and he could sign his contract with Al-Shabab as early as the beginning of next week.
Mory Diaw is thus preparing to discover a new league and join an ambitious Saudi Pro League team. He could notably share the locker room with his young compatriot Mamadou Thierno Barry as well as with Ghanaian international Thomas Partey.
His arrival in Saudi Arabia will also allow him to reunite with several players he plays alongside in the Senegalese national team. He will notably face Edouard Mendy, Sadio Mané, Kalidou Koulibaly, Abdoulaye Seck, Idrissa Guèye, and Abdou Diallo.
After several seasons in France, Mory Diaw is expected to open a new chapter in his career, with a transfer to a Saudi league that continues to attract many African internationals.
