Mercato : Nicolas Jackson signe officiellement à Aston Villa
Senegalese international striker Nicolas Jackson has officially left Chelsea to join Aston Villa. The transfer, which had been rumored for several weeks, has been finalized. He successfully passed his medical before signing a five-year contract with the Birmingham club. The deal is valued at around £65 million, of which £47.5 million has already been paid by Aston Villa.
Aged 25, Jackson is reunited at Villa Park with his former Villarreal coach, Unai Emery . The Spanish manager had made Nico his priority to bolster an attack expected to be without Ollie Watkins, whose departure to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia for around £50 million is imminent.
Playing for Chelsea, Nicolas Jackson made 81 appearances and scored 30 goals, before spending the last season on loan at Bayern Munich, where he contributed to the Bavarian club's German championship title.
At Aston Villa, the Senegalese player is expected to be an attacking reinforcement capable of bringing physical power and versatility to Emery's team, which is engaged in an ambitious summer rebuild.
