MLS: Messi inscrit un quadruplé
Lionel Messi scored four goals on Saturday in Inter Miami's resounding 7-1 home victory against Montreal in MLS, the North American soccer league, ending a five-game winless streak for his team.
The defending champions thrashed the second-to-last team in the Eastern Conference thanks to the Argentine star who, in addition to his four goals, provided an assist to his former Barça teammate, Luis Suarez.
The icing on the cake: Messi scored his signature free-kick with his left foot from the edge of the penalty area just before the final whistle.
Inter Miami, who were on a run of five games without a win (four losses and one draw), announced on Thursday that they were parting ways with their coach, Guillermo Hoyos.
Another Argentinian, Kily Gonzalez, will take the reins of Miami, second in the Eastern conference ten points behind leader Nashville, as soon as he obtains his work permit.
